Productivity, a word that bring stress or serenity depending on how you interpret it.

A lot of times our brains wrap the idea of being busy, hustling, overwhelming ourselves equals being productive. Did you know there is a way that means you can sit with a good book, take your kids to the park, and even eat a meat with your family and friends most nights?

Being productive is not working yourself to the ground. It’s about finding the best resources, skills, and times to put the energy towards getting things done.

Let’s take a look at a few of our favorite ways to stay productive, one might surprise you!

Let us start by saying, if productivity is a struggle for you. Please don’t read these ideas and think you have to conquer all of them. Simply take one idea, tweak it to work for you, and see how it lightens your load while you still progress through your tasks.

1. Set Clear Goals: Remember that vision board you made at the beginning of the year? Yup, time to pull that back out and take a look. Define your short-term and long-term goals. This will give you a clear sense of direction and help you prioritize tasks that align with your objectives.

2. Create a Routine: Establish a daily routine that includes specific time blocks for different tasks. Consistency can improve your efficiency and help you avoid wasting time on decision-making. And YES, this is totally possible for those working at home parents, just takes a little more creativity and flexibility- you’ve got this!
3. Delegate Wisely: How could we not touch on delegating? Recognize what tasks you have that you can outsource or delegate! This frees up your time to focus on the strategy, zone of genius, passion part of your business where you make high-value decisions.

4. Use Technology: Embrace technology tools such as project management software, communication platforms, and automation tools to streamline operations and enhance collaboration. A few favorites we use daily are: Click Up, Asana, Trello, Honeybook, Slack, Voxer, Google Suite, Drop Box.
5. Batch Similar Tasks: Group similar tasks together and tackle them during specific time blocks. This boost your efficiency by minimizing the amount of content switching your brain would have to go!

6. Practice Time Blocking: Allocate specific time slots for different tasks and activities throughout your day. This approach helps you stay disciplined and focused on one task at a time. For example, set certain meeting hours, times you check your email and phone, set apart time for being creative with content creation, and so on.
7. Say no: “No” is a whole sentence. Signing up for something you never really wanted to do or had the capacity to do is an automatic decline in productivity. It it taking away your time and energy for what does need accomplished but you are also bringing in a slower productivity level to the task you should have said “no” to. Did this tip surprise you??

8. Minimize Distractions: Identify and eliminate distractions in your workspace. This could include turning off non-essential notifications or creating a clutter-free environment.
9. Network Strategically: Connect with other business owners, mentors, and industry peers. Their insights and experiences can provide valuable perspectives. There are great networking groups you can join that meet locally, virtually, or a combo of both!

10. Embrace Flexibility: While routines are important, be open to adapting when circumstances change. Flexibility can help you navigate unexpected challenges more effectively. A favorite way we like to keep flexible is by keeping a priority list of tasks. Urgent, Important, and Non-important tasks. That way, if our schedule changes for any reason we can see what our top priorities are and focus in on those first.
